Stress Relief – through what you eat

It’s important to know that when we eat foods that are processed, ladened with refined sugars and processed fats, or even foods that are relatively ‘healthy‘ but too much, too fast or too late, we literally ‘stress’ our body via the intestinal tract, causing not just a digestive nightmare but immune reactions and a cortisol rush.

Which is why it’s so important to eat predominantly real, whole foods, fresh foods, in a way that supports complete and efficient digestion.  Eating foods that are enzyme rich (raw and lacto-fermented foods) will facilitate the digestive process, support the break down of heavier foods and the stress off the Pancreas (raw and fermented foods).  Also, to not ‘literally’ stress the Adrenals, avoid or cut back on stimulants such as coffee, alcohol and sugar.  And don’t underestimate the importance of eating slowly, chewing your food to a liquid, and eating thoughtfully (ideally not in front of the television!)
